The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has informed the Fort Magistrate’s Court today (26) that a request has been made to Apple Inc. via INTERPOL to obtain data from the mobile phone of former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Kapila Chandrasena, who died under mysterious circumstances.

The disclosure was made before Magistrate Pasan Amarasena during proceedings related to the inquest into Chandrasena’s death.

The court was scheduled to hear testimony from witnesses 17, 18, 19, and 20, but only witnesses 17 and 18 testified.

Witnesses 19 and 20, President’s Counsel Rienzie Arseculeratne and Attorney Udara Muhandiram, did not appear in court today.

The CCD informed the court that the two witnesses had been duly notified to appear.

The Magistrate directed authorities to inquire into their absence and reissue notices for them to appear.
