The University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo, which remained closed for two weeks due to the dengue menace, will reopen tomorrow, 13 July. The university administration stated this.

A special dengue control programme to clean the premises before reopening the university continues throughout today, 12 July, under the 'Clean Sri Lanka' programme.

Cleaning the university premises, fumigation, and inspecting mosquito breeding spots took place during this initiative. The 'Clean Sri Lanka' Secretariat under the Presidential Secretariat directed the programme.

Officials from the Borella Medical Officer of Health Office of the Colombo Municipal Council, the Army, the Navy, and the university staff joined the effort.

The university can reopen from tomorrow, 13 July, following these successful cleaning operations. Registrar of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Dr Chani Imbulgoda, expressed this to the media after cleaning the premises.

Students as well as parents must join to clean such public places, treating them as their own.

The Medical Officer of Health emphasised this.
