The Excise Department stated that the maximum limit for possession, transport and retail sale of foreign liquor has been increased from 7.5 to 80 liters.
The Department of Excise stated that the amendment was made effective to the entire island through the Excise Notification issued with the Finance Minister's signature as the subject minister on the 27th.
Accordingly, all liquor imported or locally produced identified as foreign liquor will be subject to this limit under the Excise Ordinance.
According to the new regulations, the limit for the transport and possession of foreign liquor in good faith for personal consumption has been increased to 80 liters.
