The railway trade unions say that nearly 3000 railway workers who are engaged in the strike are facing a risk of suspension.
However the strike action continues for a 10th day today demanding for solutions for their salary anomalies.
While 12 trains operated this morning, only 8 trains operated in the afternoon.

Meanwhile expressing his views at a media briefing in Colombo today secretary of the railway engine driver’s union Indika Dodangoda said that they are prepared to discuss their problems with officials at any given time.
