The Irrigation Department states that the water level of the Kaluganga is rising further due to the prevailing weather conditions.
It states that the water level at Millakanda has reached flood levels.
However, the water level of the Kelani River and the Attanagalu Oya have receded.
Meanwhile sluice gates of Rajanganaya, Daduru-oya, Kanyon, Lakshapana, Angamuwa and Thabbowa reservoirs are opened due to heavy showers.
