A bus travelling on the Southern Expressway caught fire today (16) between the Dodangoda and Welipenna interchanges, near the 48-kilometre post.
The passenger bus was on its way from Makumbura to Galle when the fire started in the rear section.
No passengers were harmed in the incident.
Police suspect the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
