The Hiru Media Network has won several awards at the DIAMOND Excellence Awards 2025 ceremony, held this evening at a hotel complex in Galle Face, Colombo.
Hiru TV's Paata Kurullo was named the Most Popular Teledrama of the Year.
The network also secured multiple awards across its radio and digital platforms.
Hiru FM was recognised as the Most Popular Sinhala Radio Station of the Year, while SUN FM was named the Most Popular English Radio Station.
Sooriyan FM was awarded the Most Popular Tamil Radio Station.
In the digital sphere, Hiru News won the award for Most Popular News Brand of the Year.
The Hiru TV website was honoured as the Most Informative Media Website, and the Hiru TV YouTube and Facebook pages were named the Most Popular YouTube Channel and Most Popular Facebook Page, respectively.
The Hiru TV TikTok page was also recognised as the Most Engaging TikTok Page for Digital Youth Media.
Awards were also given for popular programmes, with Hiru TV's Kids Star winning the Most Popular Kids Reality Programme and Salakuna named the Most Popular Political Programme.
Hiru Mega Blast was awarded the Most Popular Outdoor Music Concert of the Year.
In individual categories, Chamuditha Samarawickrama of Hiru TV won the Most Popular TV Presenter of the Year award.
Thilini Nadeesha Ranasinghe was named the Most Popular News Presenter (female) for Hiru News.
Additionally, Sajitha Anthony won the Most Popular Teledrama Actor for his role in Paata Kurullo, while Devinda Wickramasinghe received the Best Upcoming Actor award for the same teledrama.
