Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rohan Olugala has stated that a news story circulating on social media is false. The fake report claimed that Olugala had revealed that the two containers containing ice chemicals, which were under a "red label" and held at the port, were released by the JVP-led government.
Following this, a special investigation has been launched under the orders of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya.
ASP Olugala stated that the individuals who published this fake news on social media are expected to be arrested.
