The 1990 Suwa Seriya National Ambulance Service is planning to implement a special mechanism to speed up its emergency response times.
This initiative has been introduced as a priority task under the ten-year plan of the Suwa Seriya Foundation.
The new method involves immediately dispatching officers via motorcycles upon receiving an emergency call, especially in situations where the ambulance might take some time to reach the location.
Minister of Health and Mass Media, Nalinda Jayatissa, stated that efforts are underway to increase the Suwa Seriya ambulance fleet to 500 vehicles and that the service will be further modernised using new technology.
