The funeral of the legendary Sri Lankan actor SathischandraEdirisinghe will take place this afternoon (25) at the Borella General Cemetery.
Edirisinghe, a titan of the stage, television, and cinema for nearly six decades, passed away on Sunday (22) at the age of 84 while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
The final rites are scheduled for 5:00 pm today.
A large number of mourners, including members of the clergy, fellow artists, and devoted fans, gathered at his residence in Nungamugoda, Kelaniya, to pay their final respects.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa were among the high-profile figures who visited the family to offer their condolences.
