The Sri Lanka Association of Divisional Secretaries and Assistant Divisional Secretaries says that Divisional Secretaries and Assistant Divisional Secretaries will not participate in any meetings held on Mondays, which are designated as Public Day, starting from tomorrow (08).
The association’s President, R. Senthil, stated that the decision was taken considering the difficulties caused to Divisional Secretariat operations and the public due to various meetings being held physically or online by different ministries, government institutions, and political authorities on Public Day Mondays.
He further noted that these meetings often disrupt official duties and inconvenience members of the public who visit Divisional Secretariat offices on those days.
Meanwhile, the association has also sent a letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs requesting the payment of fuel allowances in line with the prevailing cost of living.
