Showers and thundershowers expected today

Rainy conditions will likely affect the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as the Nuwara Eliya and Matale districts today(3) according to the Department of Meteorology. Showers or thunderstorms are predicted for several areas in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, along with the Galle and Matara districts, after 2:00 PM, with some locations potentially receiving heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm.

Misty conditions are expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Badulla districts. The Department urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimise risks from temporary localised strong winds and lightning strikes that may occur during thundershowers.
