A discussion regarding revenue collection, structural reforms, and the modernisation of the Excise Department took place recently at the Presidential Secretariat, presided over by Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayaka.
The meeting focused extensively on digitalisation initiatives and the implementation of new reforms. Special attention was directed toward enhancing digital efficiency, developing human resources, and improving the welfare of departmental officers.
According to the Presidential Media Division, the importance of securing the cooperation of trade unions to ensure the success of these initiatives was highlighted.
The session was attended by Director General of Excise M.B.N.A. Premaratne, departmental officials, trade union representatives, and members of the Bureau of State Revenue Administration Reform and Modernisation.
