The Sri Lanka Police Headquarters announced that the "Tell IGP" project has been restructured for 2026 to provide a more efficient online platform for the public to directly reach the Inspector General of Police.
This initiative allows both local and foreign individuals to submit complaints or information regarding various incidents in Sinhala, Tamil, or English.
The service aims to provide a direct line to the IGP for reporting organised crime, drug trafficking, general offences, traffic violations, public nuisances, and corruption.
Once a complaint is received, it is forwarded to the relevant Police Station via the respective Divisional Officers, who are then tasked with deploying investigating officers immediately.
A key feature of the updated system is the ability for users to notify the IGP through the same channel if they feel that justice has not been served regarding a previously submitted complaint.
how to access the service:
- Official Website: Visit www.police.lk and navigate to the E-Services section.
- Direct Link: Access the portal directly at telligp.police.lk.
- Email: Send information or complaints to telligp@police.gov.lk.
- WhatsApp: A dedicated number, 071-8598888, is also available for text messages, photos, and videos (voice calls are not permitted).
