Thalangama Police arrested a popular new-generation actress following allegations that she pawned a gold necklace worth over Rs. 900,000 belonging to a cricketer friend without his consent.
The suspect appeared before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court today (30) after the owner filed a complaint with the Thalangama Police when the jewellery was not returned.
During the proceedings, the lawyer representing the actress informed the court that the necklace remains pawned and stated that his client possesses the ability to redeem and return it to the owner.
After considering the facts, the Acting Magistrate ordered the release of the suspect on two personal bails of Rs. 500,000 each.
