Two suspects were apprehended by the Northern Province Crimes Division during a special raid in Vishvamadu involving ice and heroin valued at several lakhs of rupees, according to Police Headquarters.
Acting on specific intelligence, officers conducted the operation last night (07) in the Vishvamadu area, which falls under the Puthukkudiyiruppu police jurisdiction.
Authorities seized 205 grams of ICE and 170 grams of heroin from the suspects at the time of the arrest.
Police identified the individuals as a primary suspect found with the narcotics and another person who allegedly aided and abetted the trade.
The suspects, aged 22 and 32, are residents of the Vishvamadu area.
Both individuals and the confiscated substances were handed over to the Puthukkudiyiruppu Police Station for further legal action.
Puthukkudiyiruppu Police are conducting ongoing investigations into the incident.
