G. M. R. D. Aponsu is the new Secretary to the Ministry of Energy, following an appointment by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The appointment letter was handed over by the Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, this afternoon (17) at the Presidential Secretariat.
Prior to this role, G. M. R. D. Aponsu served as the Senior Additional Secretary to the President on Finance and Economic Affairs and is a senior officer in the Sri Lanka Planning Service (SLPS).
He possesses extensive experience in fields including national planning, public financial management, macroeconomic forecasting, development finance, financial analysis, tax policy, and higher education planning.
