Suresh Subramaniam Honorary Life President of NOC and CGA Sri Lanka passes away

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka announced the passing of Suresh Subramaniam, Honorary Life President of both bodies.

The two organisations said Subramaniam was an outstanding sports administrator and a visionary leader who dedicated many years of distinguished service to the Olympic and Commonwealth Games movements in Sri Lanka.

The statement further stated that his unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership and invaluable contributions played a pivotal role in the growth and development of sport in the country, while strengthening Sri Lanka's standing within the international sporting community.

His passing was described as an immense loss to the entire sporting fraternity, and Subramaniam will be remembered for his integrity, wisdom and steadfast dedication to the Olympic values and the advancement of sport in Sri Lanka.

The President, Executive Committee, Member Federations, athletes, officials and staff of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka extended their heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
