The Committee on Public Finance (CoPF) summoned the Treasury Secretary and other high-ranking officials to inquire into a cyberattack that diverted $2.5 million belonging to the General Treasury to an external party.
CoPF Chairman Dr. Harsha de Silva stated that Treasury Secretary Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma and senior Finance Ministry officials must appear before the committee this Thursday (30) at 2:00 PM. Additionally, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka received notice to attend the hearing at the same time to provide clarification on the incident.
