A new circular outlining the process for granting permanent appointments to employees serving on temporary, casual, substitute, contract, or relief terms in state sector institutions has been issued, in line with proposals in the 2026 Budget.
The document was released by the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government following Cabinet approval granted at its meeting on the 27th of last month.
According to the circular, employees who had completed 180 days of continuous and satisfactory service by 1 September 2019 will be eligible for permanent appointments.
