Man missing after being swept away at Katukurunda beach

A 55-year-old person from Katukurunda went missing after being caught in a current while bathing at the Katukurunda beach this evening.

Kalutara South Police state the individual arrived at the beach around 5:30 p.m. today with his children and a group of relatives when the incident occurred.

Locals and police launched an operation to locate the missing person.

Kalutara South Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
