A 20-year-old Computer Science student from a private university in Malabe and a garage employee from Homagama died after their motorcycle veered off the road and struck a wall. The incident occurred near the Parana Handiya area on the Athurugiriya-Kottawa road when the rider lost control due to excessive speed.
The duo travelled from Kottawa toward Athurugiriya around 2:00 AM alongside a group of other motorcyclists. Reports indicate both individuals succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the Homagama Base Hospital. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the high-speed collision.
