Government agrees to debate on USD 2.5 million Treasury heist

A parliamentary debate regarding the alleged diversion of USD 2.5 million from the Treasury to a third party will take place today (05) from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

The government agreed to the session following a formal request from the opposition.

The decision followed a demonstration by 20 opposition members who stood in the house to demand a discussion on the matter from the Speaker.

While the parties initially considered a two-hour window, they later finalised a duration of 90 minutes for the proceedings.
