Heavy rain exceeding 100 mm expected in several provinces

Heavy rain exceeding 100 mm may occur in certain places within the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and North Western provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts, during the next 36 hours.

The Department of Meteorology announced this forecast while requesting the public to take necessary measures to minimise accidents caused by lightning and temporary strong winds that may occur with thundershowers.
