The Cabinet of Ministers gave the green light to publish a new bill in the Government Gazette that expands the legal definition of an animal within the Animals Act.
This legislative update includes pigs, goats, and sheep alongside the existing categories of cows and buffaloes to ensure broader coverage under the law.
The Attorney General already cleared the draft, which now moves toward a formal presentation in Parliament for final approval.
