Yellow flags must be used instead of Buddhist flags to direct people toward dansal, according to Commissioner of Buddhist Affairs (Development) Asela Madusanka.
He announced this directive today (18) during a press conference held at the Department of Government Information to brief the public on the State Vesak Festival.
A relevant circular, backed by Cabinet approval, already went out to all District Secretaries, Divisional Secretaries, Sasana Arakshaka Mandala theras, and the Inspector General of Police.
The issued circular aims not only to manage dansal but also to regulate certain inappropriate practices and activities deemed unsuitable for religious offerings.
