AHC Group expands portfolio with launch of higher education institute

Diversified AHC Group has expanded its business portfolio into the higher education sector with the launch of the Institute of International Diplomacy (IID), marking a strategic move to create new opportunities in professional and academic education in Sri Lanka.

The institute was officially inaugurated at the Human Rights Leadership Summit held at the Grand Oriental Hotel, Colombo. AHC Group Chairman and Peace Ambassador Dr. Nalaka Silva serves as the Founding Chairman of the newly established institution.

The Institute of International Diplomacy aims to provide internationally focused academic and professional education across disciplines including international diplomacy, human sciences, human rights and international law, cybercrime law, general law, agriculture, arts and culture.

The institute has been established with the objective of equipping students and professionals with globally relevant knowledge, skills and qualifications to meet the evolving demands of an increasingly interconnected world.

Dr. Nalaka Silva said the establishment of IID reflects AHC Group’s long-term commitment to investing in knowledge development and human capital. He noted that as the higher education sector becomes increasingly competitive, the institute seeks to provide new pathways for school leavers, university aspirants and working professionals through internationally recognised academic programmes and industry-focused learning opportunities.

The Institute of International Diplomacy will offer a wide range of qualifications, including professional certificate programmes, diplomas, higher diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas (PGDs), master’s degrees and doctoral (PhD) programmes.

The launch event was attended by diplomats, academics, business leaders, professionals and students. Those present included International Voice for Human Rights Development President Raghu Indrakumar, veteran international cricket umpire and member of Sri Lanka’s 1996 ICC Cricket World Cup-winning team Kumar Dharmasena, foreign diplomats, entrepreneurs, acclaimed scriptwriter Buddhika Semasinghe and representatives from the arts and education sectors.
