Special traffic plan for War Heroes commemoration today

The national war heroes commemoration day ceremony is scheduled to take place today (19) at the war heroes monument in the parliament grounds under the patronage of the president.

A special traffic plan will be implemented during this period.

Police said that traffic exiting Colombo from Polduwa junction and entering Colombo from Kiyanham Junction will be restricted from 3.30 p.m. today, with vehicles diverted to alternative routes as required.

Alternative routes:

Vehicles exiting Colombo via Parliament Road can travel through Polduwa junction, Battaramulla, Palanthuna, and Kiyanham junction.

Vehicles entering Colombo from the Kiyanham junction can travel through Palanthuna and Battaramulla.

Vehicles coming from Rajamalwatta through Bodhiraja Mawatha can enter the Battaramulla road and reach their required destinations.

Parking for buses and trucks:

From the Japan Friendship Road junction to the Kimbulawala junction.

From near the Electricity Board on Japan Friendship Road to Pelawatta junction.
