Insurance board offers relief for rain-hit Yala crops

The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board announced that compensation up to a maximum of Rs. 100,000 per hectare will be provided for crop damages caused to the Yala season due to the recent heavy rainfall.

According to the board, this compensation will apply to paddy, corn, potato, soya, chilli, and big onion crops.

Issuing a statement, the board noted that crop damages should be reported to the Agrarian Services Centres within the next 14 days.
