Funds allocated this year for new projects of the Urban Development Authority must be properly utilised within this financial year, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated.
The President indicated this during a discussion held with Urban Development Authority officials at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (18).
New projects planned by the Urban Development Authority were discussed at length during the meeting, and the President pointed out the need to properly utilise the funds allocated this year for these projects within this financial year itself.
Attention was also drawn to Colombo city water management projects, including the Kelani River flood control project, the Beira Lake restoration project, as well as the need for a special programme for low-income housing in areas such as Ratmalana and Moratuwa.
