Current water tariffs will remain unchanged during the first six months of this year. Cabinet approval was granted to the proposal presented by the Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply to maintain the current rates.
Accordingly, the Board of Directors of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) decided to maintain the cost per unit of water sales without an increase during the first six months of this year.
The cost per unit of water sales required a bi-annual review based on changes in major cost factors, in accordance with the water tariff formula approved at the Cabinet meeting held on 15 July 2024.
An analysis based on the financial statement of the NWSDB for 2025 confirmed that current water tariffs are sufficient to cover total operating expenses.
