Registration of Vesak dansal mandatory: DG Health Services

All dansal organised across the island for the Vesak festival must be registered with the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office in the respective area.

Director General of Health Services Specialist Dr. Asela Gunawardena emphasised this requirement.

Health authorities took this measure with the primary objective of ensuring the public consuming food from dansal during the Vesak festival season receive a safe, clean and quality meal.

The Ministry of Health stated this details.

Organisers of dansal should take immediate action to meet the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) or the Public Health Inspector (PHI) in charge of the area to obtain the necessary health advice and guidance, and complete the relevant registration.
