According to the National Consumer Price Index, Sri Lanka’s year-on-year inflation for April has risen to 4.7 percent.
Data from the Department of Census and Statistics shows that in March it was recorded at 2.4 precent.
Food category inflation, which stood at 0.7 percent in March, has also increased to 1.1 percent in April.
Similarly, non-food inflation, which was 3.8 percent in March, has risen significantly to 7.8 percent in April, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.
