Laws to enforce discipline among Buddhist monks soon

The government will soon introduce necessary legislation to maintain discipline among Buddhist monks, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced.

The President made these remarks while addressing the State Vesak Festival.

The national celebration commenced at the Midellawala Purana Rajamaha Viharaya in Tihagoda, Matara.

Named "Dakkhina Prabha," the opening ceremony of the State Vesak Festival also saw the participation of foreign ambassadors.
