Duo held for torching three-wheeler, sword attack

Two suspects linked to an incident in the Moragalla area of Aluthgama, where a man was seriously injured in a sword attack and his three-wheeler was set on fire and destroyed, were arrested today (28) by Aluthgama Police.

Police stated that the violent incident occurred after an old dispute between the two parties escalated.

The arrested suspects are residents of Moragalla and Balapitiya.

The injured victim has been hospitalised for treatment, while the suspects are due to be produced before court.

Further investigations are being carried out by officers of the Criminal Investigation Division of Aluthgama Police under the instructions of the Officer-in-Charge.
