The Department of Railways says train operations will be restricted and the Kota Road railway crossing, located between the Baseline and Narahenpita railway stations on the Kelani Valley line, will be temporarily closed due to urgent renovation work.
According to the department, the railway crossing will remain closed from 9:30 a.m. today until 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.
During this period, the Kota Road railway crossing will be completely closed to vehicular traffic, while train services between Fort and Narahenpita railway stations will also be suspended.
Meanwhile, arrangements have been made to operate three slow trains from Narahenpita Railway Station to Avissawella Railway Station this afternoon (06), the Department of Railways said.
