Police have arrested a suspect during a raid carried out last night (10) in the Boralesgamuwa–Werahera area by officers of the Western Province North Crimes Division.
At the time of arrest, the suspect was found in possession of 1 kg 80 g of heroin and 5 kg 24 g of crystal methamphetamine (ice), police said.
The arrested individual is a 42-year-old resident of the Werahera–Boralesgamuwa area.
Police stated that the suspect is believed to have been involved in drug trafficking activities in Sri Lanka in connection with overseas drug traffickers.
Further investigations are being conducted by the Western Province North Crimes Division.
