The All Ceylon Jewellery Merchants Association announced that gold prices in Sri Lanka recorded a significant increase today compared to last Saturday.
According to the association, a 24-karat gold sovereign increased by Rs. 6,000 to retail at Rs. 392,000.
A 22-karat gold sovereign rose by Rs. 4,000 and currently retails at Rs. 360,600. One gram of 24-karat gold now retails at Rs. 49,000, whilst a gram of 22-karat gold sells for Rs. 45,075.
