The Department of Meteorology forecasted rain and occasional strong winds today (16) across the island.
Accordingly, the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, may experience several spells of rain today.
Furthermore, a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces and the Mullaitivu district face the possibility of rain or thundershowers after 2:00 p.m. today.
Occasional moderate to strong winds between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour may blow across the western slopes of the central hills, the Southern and North Central provinces, and the Trincomalee district.
