The healthcare system of the country will be unable to cope if dengue patients increase beyond this level. Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa stated this whilst expressing views to the media regarding the dengue risk.
Patient care could collapse and lead to a crisis if that occurs, though the current situation remains manageable.
Mosquito breeding sites were identified in 41% of the inspected locations within the school system. Furthermore, dengue larvae breeding was confirmed in 25% to 27% of state institutions, factories, and religious places.
