The suspect lover linked to the Teldeniya death incident — where the body of a physiotherapist was found inside a parked car — has now been revealed to be a married man who deceived young women by changing his appearance. It has also been revealed that he, who is bald, used a fake wig to mislead young women.
Although initial reports identified him as a 38-year-old resident of Gannoruwa, Mahanuwara, a senior officer investigating the case stated that his actual residence has been confirmed as Narammala, Kurunegala.
Investigations further reveal that the suspect had relationships with women and young girls and defrauded them of money. Complaints have been filed against him with the Criminal Investigation Department and various police stations across the country, and there are also ongoing court cases related to these incidents.
Although reports had described him as a computer software engineer, investigators have confirmed that this is false, according to a senior police officer involved in the investigation.
The deceased physiotherapist, whose body was discovered two days ago inside a car, had a relationship with the suspect.
It is reported that the deceased woman and the suspect had stayed together in a hotel room in the Nuwara Eliya area from June 3-16. Police suspect that after killing the physiotherapist, the suspect placed her body inside the vehicle and brought it to the Teldeniya hospital parking area before fleeing the scene.
Investigations have also revealed that the young woman had obtained around Rs. 150 million from a bank and several individuals at interest, intending to migrate to Canada with her boyfriend, and had handed the money over to him.
Several police teams have been deployed to arrest the suspect under the direction of Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Central Province, Lalith Pathinayake, and Deputy Inspector General Sudath Masinghe.
