Under the 'Uva Provincial Land Permit 10,000 Programme,' implemented to secure land ownership for people in the Province who have been occupying land without formal permits, a total of 10,731 land permits were recently issued to residents across several divisional areas in the Badulla District.
The programme was jointly carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation and the Uva Provincial Land Commissioner’s Department.
Accordingly, land permits were distributed to residents in the Divisional Secretariat areas of Rideemaliyadda, Mahiyanganaya, Soranaathota, Meegahakiula, and Kandeketiya.
The highest number of beneficiaries, 744 people, was recorded from the Rideemaliyadda Divisional Secretariat area.
