A two-year-old girl died yesterday (22) evening after falling into an unprotected well in the Pirimandaru area, which belongs to the Dharmapuram police division.
The deceased is a girl who resided in the same Pirimandaru area.
Police investigations revealed that the girl fell into a water-filled, unprotected well located near the house adjacent to her residence.
Although steps were taken to retrieve the girl from the well and hospitalise her, she was already dead by that time.
The body of the girl is currently placed in the mortuary of the Dharmapuram Hospital.
Officers of the Dharmapuram Police Station are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
