Two pedestrians died following road incidents in Kadawatha and Puttalam Police areas.
In Kadawatha, yesterday (23), a 49-year-old resident of Ragama, was hit by a bus as it was driving into the Kadawatha bus station.
He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Ragama Hospital.
The driver of the bus has been arrested, and Kadawatha Police are conducting further investigations.
Meanwhile, a 64-year-old resident of Meegahathenna was killed on the Puttalam-Kurunegala road near Puttalam town on Tuesday night.
The victim was hit by a lorry heading towards Kurunegala whilst crossing the road.
He later died at the Puttalam Hospital.
Puttalam Police noted that the lorry driver was also injured in the collision and is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.
