National anti-narcotics day programmes underway

Numerous initiatives took place today (26) under a national operation to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. A special awareness march from Chaithya Road in Colombo to the Kollupitiya junction commenced this morning, attended by Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala and Secretary to the President Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

Furthermore, the main office and media centre for the national operation aimed at eliminating the drug menace will open this afternoon on Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07.
