The Hiru Shraddhabhivandana, a programme organised by Hiru Media Network to mark the Poson Full Moon Poya Day takes place tomorrow (29), at the historic Tissamaharama sacred grounds.
A series of noble meritorious deeds, including the Hiru Shasanavatharana initiation to ordain children into the Sasana, is conducted alongside ensuring the longevity of the Sambuddha Sasana.
The Shraddhabhivandana great meritorious festival, organised on a pious concept of Hiru Media Network Chairman Rayynor Silva to mark the Poson Full Moon Poya Day on which the Sambuddha Dhamma was gifted to Sri Lanka, is organised this time centred around the historic Tissamaharama sacred grounds, where the frontal bone relic and the right tooth relic of the Gautama Supreme Buddha reside.
Amisa and Prathipatthi Pujas will be held throughout tomorrow, twenty-ninth, centering the historic Tissamaharama sacred grounds parallel to the noble Hiru Shraddhabhivandana meritorious festival.
A determination Puja, performed wishing for the protection of the Sambuddha Sasana for thousands of more aeons after offering flowers, sound, and a Kanchuka to the Tissamaharama Chaitya, is also scheduled to take place.
Hiru, which supports this supreme mission with the sole objective of ensuring the longevity of the Sambuddha Sasana, supports the cause this time too, having ordained over two hundred children over the course of a decade while bearing the lay guardianship of those novice monks.
The Hiru Shasanavatharana, which offers monks to the Buddha Sasana for the longevity of the Sambuddha Sasana on a concept of Hiru Media Network Chairman Rayynor Silva, takes place for the thirteenth time on this occasion.
Fifteen children will be offered to the Sangha Sasana at the historic Tissamaharama Temple sacred grounds through the Hiru Shasanavatharana great meritorious deed this time.
The ritual of pouring water on the hands of the fifteen children who are thus offered to the Sangha Sasana is scheduled to be performed at the auspicious time of 4.42 p.m. today at the sacred grounds.
Nurturing the educational activities of all those monks is also a great meritorious deed performed parallel to the Hiru Shraddhabhivandana.
