Traffic movement will be restricted on several roads within the Dickwella police division today (29) and the day after tomorrow (01), the police announced.
This is due to several Poson Peraheras being held.
Accordingly, a section of the Colombo - Katharagama main road will be closed tonight (29) from 7:00 pm while the Poson Perahera of the Kondeniya Ashokarama Temple is parading the streets, and the police advise drivers to use alternative routes.
Furthermore, traffic will also be restricted on roads in Rathmale, Radampala, and surrounding areas due to a perahera held in the Rathmale area.
The Poson Perahera of the Walasgala Sri Jayawardena Muchalindarama Temple is scheduled to parade the streets from 10:00 am the day after tomorrow, and traffic movement on several roads in areas including Walasgala, Beliatta, and Dickwella could be affected during that time, the police stated.
Accordingly, the police advised the public to use alternative routes during the time the peraheras parade the streets.
