Showers expected in several areas

Department of Meteorology forecasted showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Fairly strong winds of about 40 to 50 kilometres per hour could blow at times over the western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-Central, and Northwestern provinces, and in the Ratnapura, Hambantota, and Trincomalee districts, the statement noted.
