Fuel limitations no more for ministers and public officials

Fuel restrictions previously imposed on ministers, Members of Parliament, and public officials to curb expenditure during the energy crisis now stand removed.

The Ministry of Finance Secretary issued a circular to all ministry secretaries, provincial chief secretaries, commission heads, government departments, district secretariats, state corporations, and statutory boards confirming the decision.

These limitations followed the Middle East conflict, with a circular issued on April 2 directing that fuel allowances for officials be calculated based on fuel prices from March 1 as a cost-management measure.

The new directive revokes the previous policy. Consequently, ministers, MPs, and other public officials receive fuel based on prevailing market prices effective from July 1.
