University entrance cut-off marks out next month

Cut-off marks for university admission based on the recent Advanced Level examination results will be released during the first week of next month, the University Grants Commission announced.

Accordingly, 92,043 applications were submitted for university admission this time based on the Advanced Level results.

Following the consideration of those applications, 42,937 students will be admitted to universities this year.

Plans are underway to introduce several new degree courses, and academic activities at the respective universities are scheduled to commence from September.

A total of 176,527 individuals qualified to apply for university entrance from the Advanced Level examination held in the year 2025.
